Description:

The mechanical properties of aluminum alloy conductors are greatly improved by adding alloying elements to the electrical aluminum, avoiding the problems of low elongation, poor creep resistance and poor flexibility of pure aluminum conductors, and increasing the connection reliability of the cable system. In addition, the electrical properties of aluminum alloy are kept equal to that of electrical and aluminum conductors, which is above 61%IACS.

The DC resistance of aluminium alloy conductor can refer to the value of DC resistance of solid conductor or stranded conductor in GB / T3956 - 2008.

Alloy power cables make up for the shortcomings of pure aluminum cables in the past. Although the electric conductivity of the cables has not been improved, the bending performance, creep resistance and corrosion resistance of the cables have been greatly improved, which can ensure the continuous and stable performance of the cables during long-term overload and overheating. The AA-8000 series aluminum alloy conductors can be used greatly. It improves the conductivity and high temperature resistance of aluminum alloy cable, and solves the problems of electrochemical corrosion and creep of pure aluminum conductor.

Conductivity

The conductivity of aluminum alloy is 61.8% of the most commonly used reference material copper IACS, and the carrying capacity is 79% of copper, which is better than the pure aluminum standard. But under the same volume, the actual weight of the aluminum alloy is about 1/3 of that of copper. Therefore, the weight of aluminum alloy cable is about half of that of copper cable at the same current carrying capacity. Replacing copper cable with aluminum alloy cable can reduce cable weight, reduce installation cost, reduce equipment and cable wear and tear, and make installation easier.

weight

On the premise of satisfying the same electrical performance, the weight of aluminum alloy cable is half of that of copper-core cable, its cross-section is 1.1-1.25 times of that of traditional copper-core cable, and its price is 15-30% lower than that of traditional copper-core cable.

Aluminum alloy power cable has good mechanical and electrical properties, so it can be widely used in various fields of the national economy, such as ordinary residential buildings, high-rise buildings, elevators, supermarkets, subway, airports, stations, hospitals, banks, offices, hotels, postal and telecommunications buildings, exhibition halls. It can also be used in metallurgy, steel, coke, coal mine, power plant, transmission and substation, shipbuilding, petroleum, chemical industry, medicine, nuclear power plant, aerospace, military, paper and other industries, as well as home. Electricity, cars, public transport and so on.

Creep resistance

The alloy material and annealing process of aluminum alloy conductor reduce the creep tendency of conductor under heating and pressure. Compared with pure aluminum, the creep resistance of aluminum alloy conductor is improved by 300%, avoiding the relaxation caused by cold flow or creep.

Tensile strength and elongation

Compared with pure aluminum conductor, aluminum alloy conductor can greatly improve the tensile strength by adding special components and adopting special processing technology, and the elongation can be increased to 30%, so it is more safe and reliable to use.

Coefficient of thermal expansion

The coefficient of thermal expansion is used to calculate the size change of the material when the temperature changes. Aluminum alloys have the same coefficient of thermal expansion as copper. Aluminum connectors have been reliably used in copper and aluminum conductors for many years, and most of the electrical connectors used today are made of aluminum, which is especially suitable for aluminum alloys. Therefore, aluminum alloy conductor and connector expansion and contraction are exactly the same.

Connection performance

The electrical connection made of aluminum alloy is as safe and stable as the connection made of copper conductor. The composition of aluminum alloy greatly improves the bonding performance. When the conductor is annealed, the addition of iron produces high strength creep resistance, which can ensure the bonding stability even when the conductor is overloaded and overheated for a long time.

Self loading capacity is strong.

Aluminum alloy improves the tensile strength of pure aluminum, aluminum alloy cable can support 4000 meters of weight, copper cable can only support 2750 meters. This advantage is particularly evident in the wiring of long-span buildings, such as sports venues.

Corrosion resistance

The inherent corrosion resistance of aluminum comes from the formation of a thin and strong oxide layer on the surface of aluminum when it comes into contact with air, which is particularly resistant to various forms of corrosion. The addition of rare earth elements can further improve the corrosion resistance of aluminum alloys, especially electrochemical corrosion. Aluminum is widely used as conductor of cables in pallets, as well as many industrial components and containers because of its ability to withstand harsh environments. Corrosion is usually associated with the bonding of different metals in wet environments. Corrosion can be prevented by appropriate protective measures, such as the use of lubricants, antioxidants and protective coatings. Alkaline soils and some types of acidic soils are highly corrosive to aluminum, so the aluminum conductors buried directly should be insulated or molded to prevent corrosion. In sulfur-containing environments, such as railway tunnels and other similar places, aluminum alloys exhibit much better corrosion resistance than copper.

flexibility

Aluminum alloy has good bending properties, its unique alloy formulation, processing technology, so that flexibility greatly improved. Aluminum alloy is 30% higher than copper, and rebound is 40% lower than copper. Generally, the bending radius of copper cable is 10-20 times outer diameter, while the bending radius of aluminum alloy cable is only 7 times outer diameter, so it is easier to connect terminals.

Armored characteristics

Most of the armored cables in China are made of steel strip with low safety level. When subjected to external destructive force, they have poor resistance, easy to cause breakdown, heavy weight, high installation cost, poor corrosion resistance and short service life. And the metal chain armored cable we developed according to the American standard is made of aluminum alloy band chain armored, and the links between the layers are connected.
